Thank you so much ~ I have more of an understanding, though I wish I knew more about soap and API testing. I'm new to back-end testing, sadly I'm in an environment that all Dev's are taxed and no one to help. I'm stuck in learning this from scratch.

I'm learning SOAPUI but it's painfully slow, I know nothing about XPath, Groovy ... so other than the fact they should hire you and fire me - Will the pro-version support in essence "hold my hand" from soup to nuts?

Thank you!

thanks for this! The recently released soapUI 3.5 beta has built in AMF support making this usage scenario much easier to implement. Have a look at www.soapui.org/.../amf-tutorial.html to get started with it and please report any issues you might have in our forum.

cheers!

As the project discussed in the blog post was done under contract for a client, unfortunately we cannot post the test specification or sample code from the project as you suggested. The blog post was our best effort to distill the our experiences with SoapUI. We do have a fairly standardized test methodology that we use for API testing that involves things such as boundary testing, illegal values, default settings, transaction rollback, etc. Perhaps the biggest challenge (and our greatest value add) is to design a test that strikes the right balance between the test implementation costs and test coverage.

It's incredibly useful to have a network of blogs to keep up-to-date and evolve as a testing professional. I'm currently looking at agile testing on my blog: testtothemax.blogspot.com
