Microsoft has expanded the Windows 7 logo programs with HD Imaging Additional Qualification for those HW manufactureres that can process XPS and High Definition (HDPhoto or JPEG XR) high fidelity content. This program addition rewards those manufacturers who have invested into XPS nad HDPhoto processing either as a consumer or producer. Here's more information from MIcrosoft's logo certification site:
New Windows HD Imaging AQ
Microsoft has added an additional qualification (AQ) to the Windows 7 Logo Program, called Windows HD Imaging. This AQ identifies devices and software that capture high fidelity color images and preserve that fidelity through image editing and printing with Windows.
For Consumers
Windows HD Imaging devices and software capture, edit, and print high precision color without loss of fidelity. Cameras that use raw or HD Photo format capture the scene with more precision than JPEG. This means that colors are truer, gradients are smoother and details are sharper. Camera manufacturers provide Windows Imaging Component (WIC) codecs that allow Windows and Windows-based applications to handle raw images. Applications that support WIC and Windows Color System (WCS) can open the raw or HD Photo file for editing – preserving the precise color information captured by the camera – and print through the XML Paper Specification (XPS) print path. Printers using XPS can then process the HD Photo content and print a high fidelity image from this content.
The Windows HD Imaging AQ makes it easier to identify devices and software that support these imaging technologies and create a high fidelity end-to-end imaging experience with Windows.
For Hardware Partners
The Windows HD Imaging AQ rewards the investments you have already made in your devices to support high fidelity content. Printers that support XPS, the XPS print schema, color fidelity tests, and the Windows 7 logo tests qualify for the Windows HD Imaging AQ. Cameras that support raw images and provide WIC codecs for 32-bit and 64-bit Windows or cameras that directly support HD Photo also qualify. The AQ will create a common language for customers looking to capture and print high fidelity images.
