QualityLogic is pleased to announce a major upgrade to the FaxLab fax interoperabilty testing tool.
FaxLab is used by device manufacturers, network equipment providers, and carriers to simplify the process of fax device compatibility testing. It tests how well a particular fax device operates by emulating normal operation and error conditions for a wide variety of different fax devices, as both caller and receiver. FaxLab allows users to replace a room full of fax devices with software, saving time, reducing costs, and providing a deeper level of testing than manual testing can offer.
FaxLab 7, which is shipping now, contains simulations of new fax devices from Japan and Europe, as well as updates to the FaxLab software, a new stand-alone viewer, and improved T.30 timer emulations for these new devices.
New Profiles – Profiles of seven new devices from Europe and five from Japan are included in FaxLab 7. Products manufactured by Brother, Canon, Epson, HP, Philips, Sagem and Samsung are included in the upgrade.
Viewer – The new FaxLab Viewer application allows sharing and communicating results of FaxLab sessions with others who do not own a full copy of FaxLab 7. The FaxLab Viewer views call sessions from an existing database and runs independently from FaxLab 7.
Enhancements – For the 12 new emulations, coverage of T.30 timers has been expanded to improve emulation of T0 and T1 in both V.34 and V.17 test calls. This results in better replication of V.17 call behavior when a test call falls back from V.34 to V.17 modulation.
